$75 milion paid for but soon to be gone. I would be livid. There are dozens of lawsuits about these cards anyway, because most of them eat their own balances after time or outright expire.

I actually posted a couple years ago in opposition to giving gift cards. I think that it's ridiculous that a store would charge you for spending money with them - they've already received the payment; under the time value of money theory, that investment should be able to cover the expense that the service charge might hold.
Personally, I don't see this as any better than giving cash. At least with cash, the recipient can spend it anywhere.
